Many Seniors in Mambulao don’t get  benefits from LGU health program HEALTH  benefits await Senior Citizens of Mambulao under the health program of the  local government of Mambulao. However, to avail themselves of such health benefits, seniors should first register with the local Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) for their identification (ID) cards. There are still many Seniors who have not registered with the LGU OSCA and are therefore not enjoying the benefits from being a Senior Citizen. Ricardo Menchavez (right) , OSCA head, said a duly registered senior may get a free health/doctor’s checkup at the Rural Health Unit (RHU). He made the comments in a live streaming interview in the program Action Man Executive Agenda of the Public Information Office. With the doctor’s medical certificate, a Senior would be entitled to medications/maintenance prescribed by the doctor and food supplements that he may need. Leveling up several notches higher from where it had languished since the 1950s, the upgrade came as a big surprise to Mambolenos. These days, they are greeted daily with big, colorful changes that are unfolding right before their eyes. Fruits of varied colors are in pleasing arrays on designated stalls that are reminiscent of the fruit section in almost all markets in cities such as those in Metro Manila.  A s the family members improved in earning power from their employment, the public market also has drawn more customers into its rows of stalls displaying fresh foods such as meat, fish, and vegetables. The gadgets will kill the deadly Crown of Thorns Starfish (COTS) by injecting into its arms a specially concocted vinegar solution. COTS will die later, making it easy for the volunteer divers to extract it from the coral it has clung in without the danger of being poisoned by its venomous spines.
