Flood control, at last… A massive drainage overhaul is going on at the RPSr Avenue to solve the perennial flooding at the central business district of Mambulao town. A small, tame typhoon rolling across town is more than enough to submerge the streets around the South Poblacion where the public market, the Mambulao Grand Mall, and other public amenities of convenience are located. Just imagine the sheer damage the floodwaters could do to the business activities in the area. A day of no business in this section of the Poblacion  is also a bad day for Mamboleños who may want to go shopping for household needs. But when the business around the area is going great, the coffers of the local government benefit, which for sure would also benefit public spending. And funds would always go to where sensible spending is badly needed, just like what the good Mayor Ariel M. Non has always kept in mind since taking over the helm of the Mambulao government two years ago. Indeed, this massive drainage work is one of the many public works of the LGU that makes the hearts of all Mamboleños go a-flutter -- by just looking at it for a moment. – Alfredo P Hernandez (Photo courtesy PIO-Mambulao)

Many Seniors in Mambulao don’t get  benefits from LGU health program HEALTH  benefits await Senior Citizens of Mambulao under the health program of the  local government of Mambulao. However, to avail themselves of such health benefits, seniors should first register with the local Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) for their identification (ID) cards. There are still many Seniors who have not registered with the LGU OSCA and are therefore not enjoying the benefits from being a Senior Citizen. Leveling up several notches higher from where it had languished since the 1950s, the upgrade came as a big surprise to Mambolenos. These days, they are greeted daily with big, colorful changes that are unfolding right before their eyes.
