Mamboleño book writer, cited for her advocacy

A NATIVE of Mambulao was recently awarded the Green-O-Vation Award from the Project Green Schools in Boston, Massachusetts for her advocacies in environmental protection.

Jennifer Suzara-Cheng, a science teacher in Los Angeles, California, has written children’s book that introduced young US-born readers to the rural environment back in her native country, the Philippines.

Suzara-Cheng wrote her first children’s book My First Book of Animals (Ang Aking Unang Aklat ng mga Hayop) that won the Children’s Picture Book: Softcover Non-Fiction Category of The 2020 International Book Awards (IBA) on July 22, 2020.

Recognized as an environmental advocate in the US, her nature-themed children’s books are being sold online. She donates children’s books to different schools and foundations in Bicol.

Suzara-Cheng, an unofficial member of Batch ’81 at the Jose Panganiban National High School is the daughter of Tony and Celia Suzara of Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte.
